Fascia-Esthetics
Beauty is not only a question of internal balance, it’s also a question of sense of self.
FasciaEsthetics is an exclusively manual approach which acts on the fascia - fascia being the conjunctive tissue that is present throughout the body (the skin, aponeuroses and envelopes) - and takes into account the skin's ability to provide access to the "sensory intelligence" (the 7th sense).
FasciaEsthetics is not a massage; it's a method of care applied to the face and body, based on listening to the internal movement present in the body, also called sensorial movement.
FasciaEsthetics is beneficial for:
· The skin and fascia
· Blood circulation, and drainage
· The cell and its metabolism
· The individual and his/her perception of self
FasciaEsthetics emerged from the works of Danis Bois, researcher at Moderna University in Lisbon and founder of an original manual and gestual approach known in the fields of healthcare and the arts.
An asset for your manual touch, a technique based on the feeling of self…
Goals
To have an effect on the internal movement, therefore:
· To activate the body's fluids through internal rhythm
· To boost cellular exchanges
· To revitalize body tissues and the skin through an internal force
· To relax tensed-up zones and get them moving again
· To feel the body from within
· To rebalance the whole body
Workshop Content
Manual Approach
· Listening to and revitalizing the body's natural internal movement, working on the skin and tissues.
· Listening to and putting rhythm into body fluids, activating cellular exchanges and microcirculation. Application to the face, the skull, the lower and upper limbs and the abdomen.
· Listening globally to the internal movement, deep rebalancing of the whole body.
· Assessment of the client's actual experience and of the effects of the method based on a perceptive reading scale.
· Study of the "relationship" pressure and of the extension of movement in the esthetician's gestures.
· Integration of different manual touches in cosmetic care and other techniques.
Gestual Approach
For estheticians, taking care of their body means:
· Perceiving the internal movement in their own body.
· Ensuring their own body coordination: back, shoulders and neck.
· Working on body anchoring and lower limb solidity.
· Acquiring fluidity and presence in their gestures.
· Developing empathy in movement.
Training
· 4 three-day workshops.
· Includes two-thirds practice and one-third theory.
· Students work in pairs, accompanied manually and verbally by instructors.
· Distribution of course material at each workshop.
Cost of Workshops
The cost for each workshop is $380 (tax included). A 20% discount will be granted on the first workshop to anyone who registers before August 1st, 2003, bringing the cost down to $304 (tax included).

Josée Lachance
Driven by a constant desire for learning, Josée Lachance's first sphere of interest was business administration. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration-Management Accounting (1992) and a Master's degree in Accounting (1994), and has been a Member of the Ordre des comptables en management accrédités du Québec since 1995. Ms Lachance worked for more than eight years in small and medium businesses in the field of biotechnology holding positions in administrative, finance and human resources management.
During that same period, she continued to feed her desire for learning by following a training in the Danis Bois fasciatherapy program, at the end of which she was issued a diploma. She has also cumulated over 1,000 hours in office practice and, in 1996, began conducting workshops open to the general public. In the Fall of 2002, she also started teaching with the MDB professional training staff. A dynamic and determined person, she is recognized for attaining the goals she has set for herself.
Ms Lachance is presently studying for a Ph.D. in Education at Université de Sherbrooke. This follows a specialized graduate studies diploma in "Pédagogie perceptive du mouvement" obtained at Moderna University in Lisbon, in September 2002. Involved since 1997, by her work within the managing committee of the Association Québécoise Méthode Danis Bois, she is looking to enrich the practice, to develop tools that provide better support to therapists and to supply coherent and pertinent information for the purpose of protecting and informing the general public.
A training program leading the way to an exceptional rendezvous at the very heart of the human being.
