Association Québécoise Méthode Danis Bois

Wellness through movement

Founded in France over 20 years ago, the Danis Bois Method has been taught in Québec for the past 10 years i.e. since 1992. Few in numbers at the beginning, the first Quebec practitioners chose to unite to counter their isolation and ensure the constant evolution of their practice. This need to regroup led to the foundation of the Association Québécoise de la Méthode Danis Bois (AQMDB) in 1997, which today includes students and pratitioners of all levels (certificate or diploma), trained to the Danis Bois Method (fasciatherapy and sensorial gymnastics) right here in Québec.

The AQMDB was assigned a multifaceted mission by its members:

Support the members in their efforts to develop a practice that corresponds to their professional and financial expectations.
  • Inform the members of the evolution of the Danis Bois Method in its theoretical as well as practical aspects in order to ensure the greater public constant access to a quality therapeutic follow-up.
  • Develop and promote a Code of Ethics that sets the standard of conduct, and quality standards.
  • Act as a link with other Danis Bois Method associations in the world.

Founded first and foremost to serve its members, the Association also sees to the greater public’s wellbeing. Convinced that this original method, centered on the human body’s physiology and its interaction with the soul, improves the quality of life of those who practice it, the Association also has a mandate to promote the method in Québec in order to allow the greatest possible number of Quebecers to benefit from it.

To ensure proper operation and offer its members services and activities that promote the improvement of their practice, the AQMDB must also raise funds other than those obtained through membership fees. The duly incorporated AQMDB’s fund raising structure includes various financing activities related to healthcare.

The Quebec Association presently holds 95 members in over
20 cities across the province and surrounding areas. Considering that the training program takes several years to accomplish and that the AQMDB only saw the day in 1997, this number of members reflects a settlement of the profession that is well underway.
